Catering orders, on their own menu.

Catering gets its own menu and its own page, apart from your regular menu. Groups order straight from you, with no marketplace in between.

Marketplace or your page

Marketplaces like ezCater take 15%. Your own catering page comes with your plan.

ezCater’s standard commission on marketplace orders is 15%, plus a 2.99% payment fee. Catering orders on your own Domi page add no catering commission on top of your plan.

  • Groups order from your page and join your own customer list

Pay over time

Let big groups pay over time.

On a catering order of $250 or more, the payment screen adds Klarna, Afterpay and Affirm next to your other payment options. The group picks its plan with the provider.

  • Pickup and delivery orders both qualify
  • Regular orders never see it

Order minimums

Set a minimum for each item, like a dozen.

Each catering item can have its own minimum quantity. On your catering page the item opens at that number and the minus button stops there, so groups order in the amounts you cook.

  • Catering dates start tomorrow, never the same day

Catering email

Let Domi tell past customers you cater.

If you offer catering, Domi can send a customer a short catering email about a month after their first order, once per customer, in your restaurant’s name.

  • Once per customer
  • Only if you offer catering

How it works

How a catering order works.

  1. Add your catering menu

Add your catering items as catering products and switch catering on. Attach a catering PDF too if you have one.

  2. Groups order ahead

They open your catering page, pick a pickup or delivery day from tomorrow on, and add each item at your minimum.

  3. They pay, you prepare

They pay by card at checkout, or over time with Klarna, Afterpay or Affirm on orders of $250 or more. The order shows up in your dashboard tagged Catering.

Questions

Straight answers.

Does Domi take a commission on catering orders?

No catering commission of its own. A catering order on your page costs what any other online order costs on your plan, and card processing is separate. For comparison, ezCater’s standard commission on marketplace orders is 15%, plus a 2.99% payment fee.

Is this the same as being on a catering marketplace?

No. It is your own page, for customers who already know you or find you on Google. A marketplace brings its own buyers, and that is what its commission pays for.

Can I ask for a deposit?

No. There is no deposit step. The group pays the full amount at checkout.

Do I need a second website for catering?

No. Add your catering products and switch catering on. Your catering page sits next to your regular menu, so there is nothing else to build.
